This is a landscape of mountains and trees on fire under a starry sky.

I couldn?t think of way to articulate what I?ve been feeling and seeing with these fires. How could I describe it without using photos? Because I don?t have any and while it?s the reality of our situation that doesn?t mean seeing those photos of the earth burning aren?t hard to look at. I used patchwork designs as a way to talk about fires that could be ?read? as both a story but also as a photograph of the landscape. While I?m illustrating the devastation that?s happening, I?m also using the visual language of Seminole patchwork as a way to heal.
