Our family proudly participates in the DSAGC Buddy Walk each year in honor of our son, Opie. Opie was born in November 2021 and brought immeasurable joy, love, and meaning to our lives. Although our time with him was far too short, he passed away in March 2022, his impact on our family continues every single day. During Opie's life and after his passing, the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati provided support, resources, encouragement, and a sense of community when we needed it most. We are deeply grateful for the role DSAGC played in our journey, and participating in the Buddy Walk is one way we can give back to an organization that gave so much to us. We walk and fundraise not only to support individuals with Down syndrome and their families, but also to ensure that Opie's legacy continues to make a difference in the world. Through every donation, every conversation, and every step taken during the Buddy Walk, we have the opportunity to honor his life while helping create opportunities, support, and advocacy for others. Opie taught us that a life does not have to be long to be meaningful. His love, strength, and spirit continue to inspire us, and we are committed to sharing his story and carrying his legacy forward.
