May 27, 2023, Laynie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 4 years old. She began showing symptoms of excessive thirst, frequent urination and mood swings. I knew something was off and unfortunately, it took me taking matters into my own hands by checking her sugar levels and spending a weekend in the hospital. Since diagnosis, our lives have been incredibly different. We knew very little about the disease but we took it on with faith and courage. My girl is the strongest ?little warrior I know. This disease is both mentally and physically exhausting but she always has a smile on her face and is sunshine in human form. Come support all the T1 Warriors here! This will be a week before Laynie's three year diaversary. Come help empower Laynie in her journey with T1D!
I'm walking with Breakthrough T1D to transform the lives of the millions of people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and to be a part of the largest T1D event in the world.
Did you know T1D:
- Is an autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin ? the hormone that controls blood sugar levels
- Strikes children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle
- Requires constant carb counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin
- Is a constant balancing act that can result in stress and sleepless nights
With T1D there are no days off. And right now, there is no cure. But there is hope?and that?s why I?m supporting the Breakthrough T1D One Walk this year.
Now more than ever, I need you to join me in making a difference in the lives of everyone impacted by T1D. With your donation, you?ll support life-changing research that helps people with T1D live healthier and longer, until a cure is found.
Together, we can provide hope to the millions affected by this disease.
Thank you for your support.
