Like so many couples, Dave and Lori spent years working hard and looking forward to retirement?a time to travel, relax, and enjoy life together. They had recently purchased a camper in Wisconsin Dells and were excited to begin making memories with family and friends.
Then everything changed.
During routine bloodwork before Lori's scheduled hip replacement, doctors discovered something was wrong. Within just a few days, Lori was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and began chemotherapy the very next day.
Since then, Lori has undergone chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and multiple hospital stays. Dave has remained by her side every step of the way, and the journey is far from over. Lori will soon spend approximately 30 days in the hospital as she undergoes a stem cell transplant?a critical part of her treatment.
The emotional, physical, and financial burden has been overwhelming. Instead of enjoying the retirement they worked so hard for, Dave and Lori are focused on one thing: helping Lori beat leukemia.
Asking for help is never easy, but this is not a battle they should face alone. If you are able, please consider making a donation to help ease the financial burden so they can focus on Lori's treatment and recovery. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference.
If you're unable to donate, we ask that you keep Lori, Dave, their family, and their medical team in your prayers. Sharing this fundraiser is another meaningful way to support them.
Thank you for standing with the Kontney family during this incredibly difficult journey.
