The Rosalie Murrey Memorial Foundation was founded in memory of Rosalie "Birdie" Murrey, whose short life reshaped how her family and community understand what belonging looks like for children with disabilities and developmental differences.

Birdie taught us that inclusion is not a feature you add at the end. It is the starting point. Today, RMMF builds programs across Spokane that put that lesson into practice.

The Accessible, Accommodating, and Inclusive Carrousel Event. Each year, our flagship event at Spokane's historic Looff Carrousel welcomes approximately 1,200 children and families, including many who have never been able to fully participate in a community event before. Sensory accommodations, mobility access, and a welcoming environment make the ride possible for every child who comes.

Birdie's Nest. A therapeutic inclusive early learning facility in development for the Spokane region, designed so that children with disabilities and their typically developing peers learn, play, and grow together from the very beginning.

The HOPE Framework training series. Professional development for early childhood educators and caregivers, building the workforce Spokane families need.

Why this shirt matters

The design on the front carries the words we work by: accessible, accommodating, inclusive. Wearing it tells families in our community that their children are seen and welcomed. It starts conversations. It builds the culture we want our kids to grow up in.
