Back in 2009, I silkscreened a shirt with the late Imam?s silhouette and the words:
?Where there?s a WILAYAH, there?s a way.?
I was young then, and he was genuinely one of my heroes. That old shirt has always meant more to me than just a design.
Recently, I posted a throwback photo of it on Instagram and asked if I should make a 2026 version. The response was overwhelmingly yes.
So, 17 years later?and now with the Imam (RA) no longer with us?I went back to it. I kept the words, kept the spirit, and rebuilt the artwork with the help of AI.
This one feels different now.
It started as a shirt I made for someone I looked up to. It came back as a tribute.
