I have technically been a DIS for two years with a fifteen-year career as a Certified Medical Assistant helping care for DIS patients. Being a DIS has been exciting and rewarding as I help folks who are confronted with fear, health concerns, stigma and a variety of other healthcare obstacles. I like to remind myself that: if I judge people then I have no time to love them.
