This shirt features a pop art-inspired design adapted from the photograph below by Kenneth Pangburn, winner of the Best Qwok Portrait category in our first Chicago-region Black-crowned Night Heron Photo Contest.
Kenneth said this heron looked just like Beaker from the Muppets. We agree!
The Black-crowned Night Heron is an Illinois-endangered species, and Lincoln Park Zoo is home to the largest known remaining breeding rookery in Illinois. Through outreach and public awareness, the Chicago Black-crowned Night Heron Project helps build support for research and long-term conservation of this remarkable species.
Proceeds support Black-crowned Night Heron outreach and research through the Illinois Audubon Society.
