I entered my first powerlifting competition at 55, mostly because I wanted a goal, a deadline, and a reason to get strong again.
I didn't expect that first meet to qualify me for Nationals. And I definitely didn't expect to win my division at the 2026 USA Powerlifting Masters National Championships and earn the opportunity to represent the United States at the Powerlifting World Championships in Houston this November.
I turned 56 a few weeks later.
Strength Has No Expiration Date has become the message behind this journey. It doesn't mean everyone needs to compete or chase records. It means getting older doesn't have to mean giving up your strength, your physical abilities, or your willingness to try something new.
Proceeds from this shirt help support my Road to Worlds (https://RolandToWorlds.com), including competition and travel expenses. But I wanted the shirt itself to stand on its own?something you might wear because the message means something to you, whether or not you've ever touched a barbell.
Start where you are. Keep showing up. See where it takes you.
